1. The documents that were locally issued in the Consular District (St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, British Cayman Islands, Anguilla, Montserrat, Sint Maarten/St. Martin, Saba, Sint Eustatius, St. Barthelemy) can be notarized and must bear an official seal (apostille) before this Embassy can accept the documents to be AUTHENTICATED. If you have any questions, please check with our Consular Office.
2. ALL documents MUST be Notarized by a Notary Public and bear an official seal (apostille). Please note that the notary public must check with the authorities about authenticity and contents of the documents and confirm the content and authenticity in writing. We do not accept the statements such as " true copy of the original"
3. An application form of Authentication MUST be completed (which can be downloaded from the website: www.boca.gov.tw) Please fill out this form with the wet signature and the date. A copy of a photo ID MUST be attached to the application form. When the application is lodged by an agent, the original authorization letter and the entrusted agent’s copy of passport must be attached. The entrusted agent must also fill out the agent information in the application form. (Depending on the nature of every individual application, additional supporting documents are required)
4. For authentication of private document such as Power of Attorney, letter of authorization, declaration, etc., the applicant shall apply in person at this Embassy. Please contact this Embassy to make an appointment in advance.
5. The authentication fee is US$15.00 per document and should be made payable to: The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), using a Bank of Draft OR Money Order only. The local National Bank only accepts cheques or money orders issued by a bank or its branch located in the United States.
6. The courier fee from St. Kitts to the destination of the document should also be included. This should be either Federal Express or DHL – This Draft or Money Order should be separate from the Embassy’s authentication fee.
7. The fee for the courier, Federal Express or DHL changes daily due to the fuel surcharge, please contact your local courier company for the rate. Please prepare and complete the courier air waybill (FedEx or DHL).
8. The authentication normally takes about seven working days. (excluding delivery period)
9. Copies should be made for the Embassy’s file.
