TRE: NOTICE FOR DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATION
The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) wishes to inform all clients/ applicants of the regulations in regard to commercial document authentication.
1. Please note that before sending documents to the Embassy, the company/applicant/client MUST completely fill the application forms without leaving any blank spaces. Proof of Taiwanese IDs or IDs of other countries/territories or clear, A4-sized copies of supplementary information should be also attached. The entrusted agents MUST fill “Agent” columns on the lower part of the forms with their passport copies.
2. The company/applicant/client MUST offer proof showing either its Taiwanese background or its intention to invest/run businesses in Taiwan, or past business links with Taiwan.
3. Since document authentication is connecting legal matters and this Embassy does not eye-witness the signatures of the local notary publics on those documents, it is hereafter necessary to apply for Apostille procedure conducted by local governments on those documents offered by the notary publics.
The above-mentioned application should consist of e.g. the applicant being a national of Taiwan, the captioned companies operating in Taiwan, a clear copy of passport. The Embassy needs to acquire the information/proof for its reference so as to process the authentication of documents.
Once application is not supplied completely to the Embassy, all documents will be retained without being processed.
