St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis joined in the Republic of China's (Taiwan) 107th National Day celebration on Friday, Oct 5, 2018.
During a dinner hosted by Ambassador of Taiwan to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Tom Lee recapped the many years of diplomatic relations both countries have established over 35 years and pledged the continued support of Taiwan.
He identified Agriculture, ICT, and Health as areas that speak volumes to the bilateral relationship and pledged that new projects will be introduced to contribute to the national development of St Kitts and Nevis.
Mr. Lee vowed that Taiwan will continue to support and empower nationals of the federation and foster a culture of independence while deepening diplomatic relations.
"Over the years, we have worked with your government and actively participated in your national development. Especially in the areas of Agriculture, ICT and Health. Of course, we focus a lot on the transfer of our technology and the know how to St. Kitts and Nevis, also the development of your Human Resources such as the providing of scholarships and vocational training.
"We try not to give you fish, but rather we try to teach you how to fish... so in the future, you can stay on your own course, you don't have to rely on others," Ambassador Lee said.
