The 3rd Global Sustainable Islands Summit (GSIS) was held from May 27–29, 2025, in Saint Kitts and Nevis, focusing on sustainable energy, architectural innovation, food security, and climate resilience. Taiwan, as a fellow island nation, sent a delegation led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, and academic experts through the “Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project” to showcase its commitment to becoming a net-zero island.
At the opening, Saint Kitts and Nevis affirmed Taiwan as a key partner in sustainable development. Environment Minister Dr. Chi-Ming Peng and Acer Chairman Stan Shih delivered pre-recorded messages highlighting Taiwan’s climate efforts and corporate contributions, receiving strong responses.
Taiwanese scholars participated in key forums, sharing strategies on governance, digital and low-carbon integration, and international cooperation on climate finance. Taiwan also presented its national vision for “Net-Zero Taiwan, Resilient Homeland,” aligned with 12 strategic actions across six sectors. The summit reinforced Taiwan’s vital role and partnerships in global sustainability.
