Ambassador Edward Tao Hosts Working Lunch with Minister Isalean Phillip to Advance Inclusive Development

Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Edward Ling-Wen Tao, hosted Hon. Isalean Phillip, Minister with responsibility for Social Development and Gender Affairs for a working lunch this week to discuss continued cooperation between Taiwan and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on January 15.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on strengthening collaboration to uplift local communities, with discussions covering key areas such as senior care, youth empowerment, and inclusive social development. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to building a more inclusive and resilient society.
A highlight of the meeting was an in-depth discussion on the Women’s Economic Empowerment and Financial Inclusion (WEEFI) Project, implemented by TaiwanICDF. Ambassador Tao noted that the project has played an important role in institutionalizing the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) framework, helping women across the Federation gain certified skills and greater economic opportunities.
Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis look forward to deepening cooperation and building stronger foundations for sustainable and inclusive development.
