Ambassador Edward Ling-wen Tao Attends the Opening Ceremony of the 50th CARICOM Heads Meeting

Ambassador Edward Ling-wen Tao, accompanied by Secretary Hsien-Yu (Billy) Chung, was honored to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The event brought together Taiwan's Caribbean Allies' leaders, CARICOM leaders, dignitaries, and representatives of foreign governments.
Hosted by Saint Kitts and Nevis, this marks the Federation’s first time hosting the meeting in 15 years. The ceremony was vibrant and inspiring, featuring addresses by the Prime Ministers of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and the Secretar-General of CARICOM.
The evening also showcased rich cultural performances from Saint Kitts and Nevis, including traditional clown dance and choral singing. The grand finale saw the Minister of Public Infrastructure, Konris Maynard, King of Calypso, united the audience with “One Song,” symbolizing CARICOM’s shared vision and unity.
Taiwan stands ready to continue working closely with regional partners to advance sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
