From January 26 to February 6, 2026, a training program in Taiwan for the Digital Identity Authentication Project was planned and launched by the TaiwanICDF Technical Mission in Saint Kitts and Nevis and implemented by the Taiwanese contracted vendor (IISI). Officials from relevant government agencies of Saint Kitts and Nevis visited Taiwan to take part in the program. The training program aimed to help participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing system architecture, including the underlying system design and database backup and redundancy design, as well as to take part in a series of hands-on operations and development courses. The program also covered the application of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) toolkits, which are essential for the future development of certificate-related applications.
In addition, during breaks in the intensive training schedule, the participants visited the Embassy of Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis in Taiwan and met with H.E. Ambassador Donya Lynex Francis. H.E. expressed the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis’s strong commitment to and support for the project, noting that its outcomes will significantly advance the development of e-government in Saint Kitts and Nevis and serve as a critical foundation. H.E. further emphasized that the project represents an important milestone in the cooperative partnership between Taiwan and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The year 2026 is a critical milestone for the Digital Identity Authentication project. The overall project has now entered the pilot operation phase, and the teams from Saint Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan are working closely together to achieve the goal of officially launching the system within this year.
