聖露西亞查士納(Allen Chastanet) 總理頃指示露國政府於本(29)日就新型冠狀病毒(又稱武漢肺炎)發布聲明，並於文中呼籲世界衛生組織(WHO)確保臺灣能夠充分參與國際協商、策畫及決策以利病毒之監測與控制，期最終杜絕此新型冠狀病毒之流傳。露國政府已將此聲明傳送WHO秘書處，並同步由聖露西亞駐臺大使館對外發布，相關全文含中文翻譯轉載如下：
“Statement on the Wuhan Coronavirus
Since its outbreak in Wuhan, China last month, the rapid international spread of the deadly coronavirus is of particular concern to the Government of Saint Lucia. Similar to the SARS epidemic of 2003, which killed hundreds of people and caused massive social and economic disruption, this Wuhan coronavirus respects no borders.
If the catastrophe 17 years ago is to be avoided, this new outbreak must rapidly be brought under control and contained in its very early stages before it becomes a global crisis. However, with the vast numbers of airline travelers in this region, attaining this goal is particularly challenging. In any event, effective action can only be achieved if it is meaningfully coordinated internationally particularly among all countries in close proximity to the epicenter of the outbreak.
Short term or myopic considerations must not be permitted to impede international information exchange, consultation and collective action.
Given Taiwan's proximity, its importance as a transport hub and its 23 million population, Saint Lucia urgently calls on the WHO, as a matter of urgency, to ensure that there is full involvement of the Taiwanese authorities in the international consultations, planning, and decision making to monitor, control and ultimately halt the further spread of the coronavirus. “
「自從新型冠狀病毒（又稱武漢肺炎）上個月在中國武漢爆發以來，其致命的迅速傳染性引起了聖露西亞政府的特別關注。
就像2003年爆發的SARS，不僅帶走了數百條生命，亦對國際社會和經濟造成了巨大的破壞，此款武漢冠狀病毒的影響也不分國界。
如果要避免17年前的災難重演，我們必須迅速控制這種新的疫情，並在其成為全球危機前加以遏制。但是，由於疫區的國際旅客數量龐大，要實現此目標實為一大挑戰。
無論如何，為達成具實際效力的成果，各國尤其是疫區附近的所有國家必須通力合作，採取有效措施。國家間絕對不能短視近利，為了私慾而阻礙國際防疫資訊交流、協商與合作。
鑒於台灣作為亞太地區交通樞紐的重要性，亦為了其兩千三百萬人口，聖露西亞呼籲世界衛生組織儘速確保台灣能夠充分參與國際協商、策劃及決策，以利病毒之監測與控制，並最終杜絕此新型冠狀病毒之流傳。」
