Minister in the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Saint Lucia, Mr. Edward Ling-Wen Tao presided the Opening Ceremony for Sarrot Court and Multi-Purpose Centre on May 6th, along with Honourable Prime Minister Allen Chastanet and Honourable Guy Joseph, Minister for Economic Development, Housing, Urban Renewal, Transport and Civil Aviation.
On behalf of the Embassy; Minister Tao congratulated the people of Castries Southeast and the community of Sarrot on the opening of Sarrot Multi-Purpose Centre, which is a product of Taiwan-Saint Lucia cooperation, initiated by Minister Joseph, funded by government of Taiwan, and constructed by local companies. Minister Tao was delighted to see these facilities finally completed after seven years, and he encouraged the residents to utilize it wisely to enhance community development of local economy.
Prime Minister Chastanet and Minister Guy Joseph both expressed their appreciations to the government of Taiwan for its continued support. Minister Joseph pointed out that the center was built by several local companies, generating job opportunities and professional training to the local people. He vowed to continue working with Taiwan Embassy to undertake more projects such as this one.
