Riga city Deputy Mayor Linda Ozola’s special assistant Kaspars Adijans visited Amb. Lee on March 16. During the meeting, both sides exchange opinions on issues such as Taiwan’s relationship with Latvia, Central and Eastern European Countries, as well as current cross-strait issues. Mr. Adijans emphasizes that Latvia and Taiwan are like-minded countries and should work jointly against dictatorship and aggression. He looks forward to working with Taipei Mission and Taiwan in all fields, including exploring the possibility of having an exhibition devoted to Taiwan excellent crafts with distinctive characteristics in the near future.
Amb. Lee pointed out that Taiwan takes a steadfast and pragmatic approach to deepen its relationships with the Baltic states and Central and Eastern European Countries in a mutually beneficial fashion. More importantly, as a full-fledged democracy and key player in global supply chains, Taiwan has every right to engage with all countries on equal footing, as well as in a good position to continue deepening its relations with Latvia and Estonia, and making a meaningful contribution to the international community as a responsible stakeholder.
