The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is pleased to inform the general public of the Republic of the Marshall Islands that the 2024 MOFA Taiwan Scholarship, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is available now for application until March 31, 2024. This year the maximum number of recipients for the Scholarship is 13.
The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship offers opportunities to talented Marshallese students with high school diploma (or above) to pursue higher education in Taiwan. Recipients of the scholarship may take an optional pre-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Program (LEP) for one year before studying in university, or directly study for degree in the university. Each recipient of the scholarship will be awarded with a monthly stipend of NT$ 28,000 (approximately US$ 900) for LEP and NT$ 33,000 (approximately US$ 1,065) for university degree programs (bachelor degree: 4 years, master degree: 2 years, and doctoral degree: 4 years).
The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship application procedure includes the following:
- Visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (http://www.mofa.gov.tw/en/cp.aspx?n=A5C28AD214C3FD7C) or the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program Website (https://taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/web/pages.aspx?p=7) and print out the application forms.
- Complete and send the application forms to the Embassy together with all the required documents no later than March 31, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted and/or processed.
- The Embassy will work with the relevant government authorities of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to conduct a preliminary screening and provide recommendations to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for further review.
- In general, applicants will be informed of the selection results by June 30, 2024.
