The visit of the Minister of Education of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Joe Bejang, successfully concluded on the afternoon of July 6, as the delegation departed Taiwan.
During his visit, Minister Bejang met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia Lung and Minister of Education Cheng Ying Yao. On July 3, Minister Bejang and Minister Wu jointly signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Educational Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands," aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in education and talent cultivation.
While meeting with Minister Lin, Minister Bejang conveyed and reiterated President Hilda Heine's steadfast support for the friendship between the Marshall Islands and Taiwan, as well as Taiwan's participation in international affairs. He also expressed sincere gratitude for Taiwan's significant contributions to the development of the Marshall Islands over the past 26 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, including assistance in successfully hosting the Micronesian Games this June.
During the luncheon hosted by Deputy Minister Tien, he expressed appreciation for the Marshall Islands' long-term support for Taiwan. He particularly acknowledged Minister Bejang's efforts as Minister of Health, where he repeatedly voiced support for Taiwan's participation in the World Health Organization (WHO) on the international stage. The government and people of Taiwan are deeply grateful and emphasize that Taiwan values its friendship with the Marshall Islands, and will continue to work with the Marshall Islands government to promote cooperation in education, culture, and other fields.
