Vice Superintendent Chia-wei Lin of National Shuang-Ho Hospital

Dr. Chia-wei Lin, Vice Superintendent of National Shuang Ho Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Republic of China (Taiwan), led a delegation to visit the Republic of the Marshall Islands and arrived on the evening of 25 June 2014. The main purposes of Superintendent Lin’s visit are to sign an MOU with Women Together Marshall Islands (WUTMI) on a 5-year project for Hearing Screening in Children and also to explore possibilities of assisting the Majuro Hospital to establish telemedicine operations between the 2 hospitals. Mr. Wei-uei Lu, Director of Information Technology Department in Shuang Ho Hospital and Ms. Subrina Fu, Special Assistant to Superintendent Chih-Hsiung Wu were also on the delegation.
The MOU was aimed to enable both Shuang Ho Hospital and WUTMI to help local parents with hearing-impaired children build better knowledge to provide care and also to help the RMI understand more about the scale and population of children with hearing problems. The MOU was signed on 27 June 2014, witnessed by H.E. Ambassador Winston Wen-yi Chen of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Secretary Julia Alfred of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
