Today marks the successful completion of the missions of volunteer translator Ricky Chang and environmental volunteer WeiWei Wu. Yesterday, the Embassy, together with our partner agencies in the RMI — the Office of the Attorney General, Division of Immigration, and Environmental Protection Authority — held a farewell gathering to express appreciation for their dedicated service over the past year.
Volunteer Ricky assisted law enforcement agencies with court interpretation and document translation, helping strengthen communication within the judicial system. Volunteer WeiWei organized weekly Saturday community clean-up activities, working closely with local communities to help protect the environment. Through their efforts, both volunteers contributed to the joint efforts for the safety and environmental well-being of the Marshall Islands.
The Embassy also expresses its gratitude to the host agencies of the RMI for their warm welcome and guidance, which provided our volunteers with invaluable learning opportunities.
While bidding a warm farewell to the Taiwanese volunteers, we are also pleased to welcome Specialist Arno Lee from the Taiwan Technical Mission. Specialist Lee will implement a poultry promotion project aimed at supporting the development of the local chicken farming industry, reducing dependence on imported chicken meat and eggs, and enhancing food security in the Marshall Islands.
We sincerely thank all partners and volunteers whose dedication continues to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Taiwan and the Marshall Islands.
