Grand Opening of the Pig Slaughterhouse
The new facility establishes a humane and hygienic slaughtering system, helping improve meat quality, provide safe and high-quality protein for the people of the Marshall Islands, and reduce slaughtering time.
The slaughterhouse is open to all Marshallese residents. The fee is USD 25 per pig weighing under 150 pounds and USD 50 for pigs weighing over 150 pounds. Each slaughtering session takes approximately 45 minutes.
Groundbreaking of the Layer Supply Center
Launched in 2026, the TTM's new Poultry Project aims to support the development of the local poultry industry. The Layer Supply Center will help local farmers enhance their poultry farming knowledge and skills, increase domestic protein sources, and reduce reliance on imported meat. These efforts will strengthen food security, improve community livelihoods, and promote better nutrition and health.
Pigs, chickens, and eggs! Taiwan continues to support the Marshall Islands in diversifying its local protein sources, bringing more nutritious and healthy food choices to the people.
