Taiwan Leisure Farms Development Association(TLFDA) led a delegation to the Philippines for the first post-pandemic promotion of agritourism from 9 to 12 April 2024. During their stay, the delegation held 2 B2B conferences, one at Armada Hotel Manila on 10 April and the other at Park Inn by Radisson Clark on 11 April, to introduce leisure farms in Taiwan and the latest news and features of Taiwan agritourism to tourism stakeholders in the Philippines.
Mr. Dustin Teng-shi Yang, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines joined the Manila B2B conference. In his remarks, he noted that leisure farms are one of the best destinations to experience Taiwanese hospitality and pastoral culture. He mentioned that there are over 350,000 Filipino travelers visiting Taiwan in 2023, which increased by 447% compared to year 2022. This not only proves the robust tourism recovery in post-pandemic era, but also shows that Taiwan is an attractive destination to Filipino friends. He emphasized that this year, Taiwan is targeting to double the number of Filipino visitors, and invited more Filipino tourism stakeholders to visit, enjoy, and promote Taiwan.
There were 5 leisure farms and 1 travel agency from Taiwan participating in this initiative to introduce the variety of leisure farms in Taiwan to over 70 Filipino tourism stakeholders to boost the popularity of agritourism market in post-pandemic era and attract more Filipinos to Taiwan to experience authentic Taiwanese culture.
