This Office is the sole window of attesting the Pakistani documents to be used in Taiwan. Effective June 1, 2007, the "Resident Visa Interview Procedures" will be implemented for Taiwan citizen with Pakistani spouse in order to combine the procedures of marriage interview with the documents authentication as a whole.
Procedures as follows:
A. Interview Registration
The following documents should be filled up and fees paid to arrange schedule of interview:
(1) Application form for document authentication.
(2) Marriage interview record for both male and female applicants respectively (interview will be held separately at the same time).
(3) Marriage interview pledge/guarantee letter.
(4) Declaration of marriage-document's acquisition.
(5) Visa application form for entry into Taiwan, Republic of China.
(6) 2 copies of 2" color photos with white background taken within the recent 6 months.
** The above forms should be filled up and truly signed by both male and female applicants personally.
(7) Single Status Certificate for the Pakistani spouse.
(8) Certificate of marriage registration in Pakistan.
(9) Certificate of "no criminal record" of the latest. 6 months for the Pakistani spouse
** The above form Nos. 7 - 9 should be translated into English and Arabic and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the Pakistan Embassy in KSA. Each original document and its copy should be attached.
(10) Passport original and its copy for both male and female applicants.
(11) Entry visa to Pakistan and Pakistan's entry/exit record for Taiwan citizen.
(12) One original of the whole valid household registration in Chinese for the latest 3 months of Taiwan citizen.
(13) Proof of friends-making communication and photos of wedding .
B. If marriage interview approved, the Pakistani spouse should submit the following documents for visa to Taiwan:
(1) Declaration of adopting Chinese name. The applicant should take a proper Chinese name according to "the Book of Chinese Name" before interview.
(2) One original of the whole household registration in Chinese completed with marriage registration, indicating the spouse's name in English and Chinese, by Taiwan citizen, with validity of the latest 3 months. (If Taiwan citizen couldn't return to Taiwan to apply for this document, a Letter of Authorization should be notarized by this Office to authorize someone in Taiwan to do so).
(3) Passport's original and its copy of the Pakistani spouse
(4) The physical examination report of the Pakistani spouse of the recent 3 months by the qualified hospitals approved by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia. The physical examination should include the following items and should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia and this office:
a) Chest X-ray for Tuberculosis (Standard Film only).
b) Serological Test for HIV.
c) Merthiolate-Iodine-Formaldehyde method, MIF method (stool examination for parasites including Entameba histolytica etc.
d) Urine Test for Amphetamines and Opiate Metabolites.
e) Physical examination in general including mental status and check-up for Leprosy.
f) The female spouse should submit additional report of Rubella Antibody Positive or Vaccination Certificate of Rubella.
C. Those who did not pass the marriage interview should take back the originals of documents.
According to the regulation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, basically, the marriage interview will be conducted once only. However, the remedial measure to apply for second interview will be granted if the applicant submits the following supporting documents with good reasons: (this Office will reply in writing after receiving the statement)
1) A duly signed statement written by Taiwan citizen provided with full name, ID number, address and telephone number. A reply to this statement will be made one month later after the applicant took back the rejected documents.
2) Passport copy of Taiwan citizen; and passport's original and its copy of the Pakistani spouse
3) One original of the whole household registration in Chinese with validity of latest 3 months of Taiwan citizen.
4) The related new supporting documents such as photos of friendship, the telephone communication record of both sides, correspondences etc.
