Applications for the 2027 Taiwan Fellowship will be open from May 1 to June 30, 2026
The Taiwan Fellowship Program is established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to encourage experts and scholars overseas to pursue advanced studies at Taiwan's universities, colleges or research institutions. The Fellowship is open for applications from May 1 to June 30, 2026.
A scholar's field of study should be in the social sciences and humanities, with a topic related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia Pacific, and Sinology.
The Fellowship recipients will be entitled to monthly stipends and one direct round-trip economy-class ticket subsidized between their country of residence and Taiwan. The duration of a fellowship is from 3 months to 12 months.
Eligible applicants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries of this Office’s consular district should first submit an on-line application at https://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw/eng/apply.aspx and then send all application documents to our office by post before the deadline. The required application documents include:
- Application form (please print the completed online application form)
- Resume (including a publication list)
- Research proposal (three pages in principle using a standard research format)
- Two letters of recommendation
