The Education Division of Taipei Mission in Sweden will hold the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) in HANSHENG MANDARIN SPRAK CENTER (Ringvägen 58, Stockholm)on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
We have a new test level- Novice, which is designed for Chinese starters.
Tthe TOCFL has four proficiency levels: Novice, Band C, Band B (not opened for this time), Band A.
TOCFL-Novice Listening and Reading Test, developed by the Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP), is a Chinese language test designed for adult Chinese starters who have learned the language in non-Chinese speaking regions more than 60 hours. TOCFL-Novice contains two proficiency levels: Novice 1 and Novice 2, which are below CEFR A1. The test is based on about 300 high-frequesncy words and uses abundant pictures to illustrate authentic situations, with the aim to evaluate the ability of recognition and comprehension of words/phrases. The goal of the test is to provide an outlook of Chinese starters' abilities on listening and reading, as well as encourage them to set learning objectives in their future learning plans after taking the test.

The application fee is 180Kr. All applications must accomplish both the online registration via https://tocfl.sc-top.org.tw/zoom/index.php and payment of the application fee to the bank account of Education Division (SEB 5267-1058934) before May 2, 2018. Applicants need to remark his/her “full name + TOCFL “ when pays the fee.
A Notification of Entry will be sent to each test-taker via email before May 21, 2018, and will include the date and venue of the test, the test-taker’s seat number, and other test-related information.
The transcript issued by SC-TOP will be sent to Taipei Mission in Sweden, Education Division three weeks after the test, and shall then be forwarded to the individual test-taker. After receiving the transcript, the test-taker can contact SC-TOP directly to request additional copy of the transcript or apply for a grade review.

The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) is designed and promoted by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP), an affiliated organization of the National Taiwan Normal University, for people who wish to know their level of Chinese proficiency and/or want to study, work, or do business in Chinese-speaking countries. Applicants who pass the TOCFL will receive a certificate, which can serve as a Chinese proficiency credential for:
Application for the Taiwan Scholarship (Degree Program), for which a certificate of Chinese-language proficiency must be submitted with the application;
Application to academic programs at colleges or universities in Taiwan;
A credit reference to be applied towards Chinese course equivalencies by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Compatriot Students;
Proof of language ability when pursuing employment;
Providing an incentive to those students’ interest in learning Chinese.
The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) has obtained a strong reputation among foreign companies, government institutions, and academic organizations in Taiwan.
