At the invitation of Mr. Chen Cheng-min, President of the Taipei Business Association in Singapore (TBA SG), Representative and Mrs. Ta-Tung J. Chang attended the association’s Chinese New Year gathering on 20 February 2016. Among the over 150 guests at the gathering were the honorary officers of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee and officials from the Taipei Representative Office with their families. In celebration of the Chinese New Year, there was a lion dance performance, a display of Chinese calligraphy by Representative Chang and other guests, and the tossing of yusheng for good luck.
In his address, Representative Chang wished everyone present a Happy Chinese New Year and expressed his sincere thanks to Singapore leaders and people as well as Taiwan compatriots in Singapore for their concern and assistance for Taiwan during the Tainan earthquake. During the celebration, Representative Chang received from Mr. Chen Cheng-min a banner from the organizers of "To Taiwan with Love — Ride for Hope for Tainan Earthquake" for the survivors of the Tainan earthquake. The banner, which was earlier presented to Mr. Chen by the cyclists who took part in the 20-kilometer ride from East Coast Park to Changi Village on Valentine’s Day as a show of their support for the earthquake survivors, will be forwarded by the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore to the Tainan City government.
