Representative Ta-Tung J. Chang Attends 26th “Respect the Elderly Celebration” Hosted by Singapore Gnoh Kung Association

On 28 February 2016, Representative Ta-Tung J. Chang, accompanied by Mrs. Chang, graced the Singapore Gnoh Kung Association’s 26th “Respect the Elderly Celebration” as the guest of honor. The celebrations opened with a lively lion dance performance and the God of Fortune distributing sweets.
In his address, Representative Chang highlighted that with progress in medical science, people are living longer and eldercare is a growing concern of governments in Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. As the old saying goes, “Honour the aged of other family as we honour our own”. The “Respect the Elderly Celebration” by the Singapore Gnoh Kung Association is, therefore, a profoundly meaningful activity. Representative Chang presented Taiwan pineapple tarts and juice to seniors aged above 70 years to wish them abundance of luck. Representative Chang, Mr. Li Zhiyuan, President of Singapore Gnoh Kung Association, and the association’s Vice President also presented the seniors in attendance with mandarin oranges, vouchers, red packets and goody bags and regaled them with New Year songs.
