Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang attended the United Chinese Library’s Chinese New Year gathering held on 24 February 2018 at the invitation of the center’s President, Mr. Cham Seng Yin. Other invited guests at the gathering included commissioners of the Overseas Community Affairs Council and office bearers of the Taipei Business Association, and officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.
After paying their respects to the founder of the United Chinese Library, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, everyone at the center joined in the singing of songs and tossing of yusheng. In his address, Representative Liang commended the United Chinese Library, which will be celebrating its 108th anniversary this year, for its achievements as an important Chinese cultural center in Singapore. He also highlighted the close and growing links between Taiwan and Singapore in the areas of economy, tourism and culture and education.
