Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang graced the opening ceremony of the ROC 107th Double Tenth Woodball Invitation Championship and hosted its prize award dinner on 30 September 2018. Over 60 persons attended the dinner, including commissioner, senior adviser and coordinators of the Overseas Community Affairs Council, office bearers from the Taipei Business Association in Singapore, the Woodball Association of Singapore and the Farah Tennis Club, and officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.
In his address, Representative Francis Liang commended the Taiwanese community in Singapore for its tireless commitment and support in organizing activities to commemorate the Double Tenth National Day. He also thanked the co-organizer, the Woodball Association of Singapore for its friendship and efforts in facilitating sports exchanges between Singapore and Taiwan. In its seventh year, the Woodball Championship sees the Taiwanese compatriots coming together to celebrate and share their joy with friends in Singapore. Representative Liang also expressed his hope that the Taiwanese-invented sport of woodball would continue to grow in popularity and foster greater friendship and understanding between Taiwan and other countries.
