Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang attended the Alumni of Taiwan Universities & Colleges (ATUC)’s Lunar New Year gathering on 17 February 2019 at the invitation of the association’s president, Mr.Goh Eng Whatt. The event was attended by over 70 alumni and their families.
At the gathering, Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang conveyed his wishes of prosperity and happiness to all ATUC members and their families. He also highlighted the close exchanges between Taiwan and Singapore. Taiwan is Singapore’s fifth largest trading partner, and tourist numbers between the two countries exceeded 850,000 in 2018. Since the start of the lunar year, various dance, music and theater troupes from Taiwan have performed at Singapore’s 2019 edition of the River Hongbao and Huayi-Chinese Festival of Arts.
Representative Liang thanked ATUC members for their support to the Representative Office of Singapore and the Republic of China (Taiwan), and expressed his hope that economic, cultural and social ties between Taiwan and Singapore would continue to grow from strength to strength.
