The MOFA Taiwan Fellowship is established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to encourage foreign experts and scholars interested in research related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, Sinology to conducting advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan.
- Application period: from 1st May to 30th June, 2026
- Financial Assistance: one direct round-trip ticket, Monthly stipends: NT$50,000~60,000 (around 1,360 ~1,630 Euro)
- Field of Research: A scholar’s field of study should be in the social sciences and humanities, with a topic related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia Pacific, and Sinology. Furthermore, applicants are also encouraged to research important policies of the Taiwanese government, such as the New Southbound Policy, Asia-Pacific regional security, energy security, Integrated diplomacy, submarine cable, transnational repression, and global supply chain issues.
- Recipients: shall be foreign professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or doctoral program students at related departments of overseas universities, or are research fellows at an equivalent level in academic institutions abroad.
- Terms of Fellowship: 3 months to 1 year
