The Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of China have been staunch allies since 1968. Over the years, the Swazi government has firmly supported Taiwan’s efforts to achieve meaningful participation in the United Nations-related organizations and mechanisms, such as the World Health Assembly, the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
H.M. King Mswati III announced restoration of the Kingdom’s name as the Kingdom of Eswatini at the 50/50 celebration on 19th April this year. The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) respects this decision and translate its new name accordingly in Mandarin Chinese.
