Farmers and Stakeholders during the sweet potato field day at Nceka. Empowering small scale farmers is important Republic of China on Taiwan Ambassador Peter Tsai says it is important to empower the local small scale farmers for Swaziland to achieve its goal of being food secure. He said the government of the Republic of China on Taiwan strongly believed in agriculture that was why over the past years they had provided a lot of financial and technical projects such as sweet potato farming. “We understand it is important to empower local small scale farmers in order for the country to achieve its goal of being food secure. Through the assistance, friendship and cooperation between our two countries will be strengthened for many years,” he said during a sweet potato field day. Tsai thanked the ministry of agriculture for working together with the embassy to ensure the success of the project as well as farmers for hard work and dedication.
