The first group of Taiwan ICDF volunteers departed Taiwan for Swaziland in 1996. Since then, over 627 short- and long-term volunteers have served in 37 countries, promoting progress and prosperity throughout the world and facilitating economic growth and social development in Taiwan's partner countries.
By working directly with local stakeholders, Taiwan ICDF volunteers not only work closely with Taiwan's partner countries, but also gain a richer understanding of the culture and traditions of their host country.
Recently ICDF has sent volunteers to Tuvalu in information technology, environmental protection, education, veterinary medicine, tourism, medical care, and agriculture fields.
