Ms Ting-I Chan, Chairperson of Taiwan's cabinet-level National Communications Commission, led a delegation to London from 28 June to 1 July.
To better understand digital development in the UK government and related industries, the delegation called on several government agencies and private sector organisations during the visit, including the Government Digital Service, Cabinet Office, Service Design Council, Tech UK, Digital Catapult, and Digital Greenwich.
Arranged by the TRO, Chairperson Chan also met with former Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, John Whittingdale MP and former members of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee in the Parliament, Christian Matheson MP, Nigel Huddleston MP, and Ian Lucas MP, to exchange views on issues such as digitalization in the UK telecommunications industry and the current government's strategies on promoting digital development and economy in public and private sectors.
Similar to the Office of Communications (Ofcom) in Britain, the National Communications Commission is an independent agency in the cabinet responsible for regulating the development of the communications and information industry in Taiwan.
