Hayward Gallery to spotlight Taiwan artist on 50th anniversary

From 20 June to 6 August, Taiwanese video installation artist Yuan Goang-ming holds his first solo exhibit in the UK “Tomorrowland” at the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery in London. His exhibition features three sets of video installations: “Tomorrowland” (2018), “Everyday Manoeuvre” (2018), and “Landscape of Energy” (2014), all of which will be included as part of the gallery’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Yuan Goang-ming’s is one of the foremost Taiwanese artists active in the global new media community. Through the careful application of video techniques and film theories, Yuan seeks to challenge viewers’ perception of reality and transform quotidian imagery into a poignant critique of the status quo in Taiwan.
