From 5-7 November, a Taiwan Pavilion jointly established by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Taiwan Visitors Association promoted the country’s tourism at the annual World Travel Market (WTM) held at the London ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Tourism Bureau personnel constructed a ‘Taiwan Image Hall’ as part of the Pavilion’s display to showcase the beauty of Taiwan’s townships.
On 5 November, Representative Lin attended the pavilion’s ‘Happy Hour’ opening event, alongside Vice Chair of the British-Taiwanese All-Party Parliamentary Group Andrew Rosindell MP. In his opening remarks, Representative Lin stressed the strengthening industrial cooperation between Taiwan and the UK, and flights from London to Taipei provided by Eva Air and China Air will aid the increase of bilateral tourism exchanges for the future. He concluded by encouraging WTM attendees to visit Taiwan. Mr Rosindell also gave a speech in which he emphasised the UK Parliament’s support for Taiwan and enhancing the bilateral relationship through tourism exchanges.
