In recent days, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) has seen a rapid spike. As the symptoms of the virus are very similar to that of the regular flu—including fever, coughing and shortness of breath—it is difficult to tell these two illnesses apart.
As a result, starting 16 March 2020 we will begin checking every applicant’s temperature upon their arrival to delay the spread of the virus and to ensure the health of every applicant.
The Central Epidemic Command Centre in Taiwan (CECC) sets the standard to which we adhere for the temperature considered to be a fever. In light of this, anyone recording a forehead temperature of or over 37.5 degrees Celsius will be asked not to enter our office, and to instead submit their application and documents once they have recovered.
To ensure everyone’s health, we recommend that you remain updated with the latest information, and to follow regulations and policies issued by the UK government.
