Bilateral trade in goods between Taiwan and the United States in 2023 (from Jan. to Nov.) has reached 116.96 billion U.S. dollars. The U.S. was Taiwan's 2nd largest trading partner, and Taiwan, in turn, was ranked as the U.S.' 8th largest trading partner.
Close economic ties between Taiwan and the U.S. were also reflected in our bilateral investment relations. U.S. investments in Taiwan have amounted to 26.7 billion U.S. dollars, making it the 3rd largest source of FDI in Taiwan (after the British Overseas Territories in the Caribbean and the Netherlands). Taiwanese investments in the U.S. have amounted to 33.3 billion U.S. dollars, making the U.S. the 2nd largest overseas investment destination for Taiwanese companies (after the British Overseas Territories in the Caribbean and the Netherlands).
