The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States launched a new website to help better facilitate educational exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and the United States. The website, Learn & Study in Taiwan, provides more information related to the study of the Mandarin language in Taiwan and hopes to encourage more Americans to choose Taiwan as their destination for study abroad.
The website features a user-friendly searching design and quick access to information based on the individual goals of each prospective student, whether it be developing Mandarin language skills or earning a degree abroad. Specifically tailored to American students, the website also provides information regarding visa applications, university options, and housing information in Taiwan.
Information is also included regarding the Taiwan Centers for Mandarin Learning, a set of more than thirty centers located across the United States which provide American students access to study Mandarin in an environment that values free speech and independent thinking.
Representative Bi-khim Hsiao of TECRO and Managing Director Ingrid Larson of the American Institute in Taiwan signed a memorandum of understanding regarding International Education Cooperation on Dec. 2, 2020, to expand educational exchanges. Taiwan is a diverse and open society and staunch supporter of academic freedom, making it the ideal location for American students to study and learn Mandarin abroad.
