With the proximity in geographic location and culture, Taiwan has been a major investor in China with close business ties. With an accumulated investment of $163 billion as of October 2016, Taiwanese companies are one of the largest investors in mainland China.
The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) signed between Taiwan and Mainland China in 2010 has opened up opportunities in Mainland China. Businesses can now collaborate with innovative Taiwanese companies and leverage ECFA to utilize Taiwan as a gateway to Mainland China and other fast-growing Asian markets. The investment agreement especially provides high-level protection, attracting investors to consider entering through China with a Taiwan partner when exploring the region’s business possibilities.
