The 2025 Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language Computerized Adaptive Test (TOCFL CAT) for the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area will be held at George Mason University on Saturday, Nov. 1. Examinees who pass the test will receive a Chinese Proficiency Certificate as a credential for the following:
- Applying for the Seal of Biliteracy from the Maryland State Department of Education and the Virginia Department of Education.
- Becoming eligible for the Taiwan Scholarship and Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, sponsored by Taiwan’s government for studying in Taiwan.
- Qualifying for admission to academic programs at colleges or universities in Taiwan.
- Serving as verification of Chinese language proficiency for employment.
- Providing an incentive to those who are interested in learning Chinese.
