TECRO and AIT Exchange Signed Letters of Intent (LOI) Establishing a Baggage Screening Facilitation (BSF) program
On June 25, 2019, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) and the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) exchanged signed Letters of Intent (LOI) establishing a Baggage Screening Facilitation (BSF) program at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Taipei, Taiwan.
A BSF Program would exempt from screening transfer hold baggage bound from the United States to third jurisdictions via Taiwan.
TECRO Deputy Representative Louis M. Huang and AIT Managing Director John Norris previously had signed the “Letter of Intent between the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States and the American Institute in Taiwan Regarding Hold Baggage Screened in the Territory Represented by AIT In-Transit at Taoyuan International Airport” that was exchanged in the presence of Deputy Minister Yu-Lin Huang, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), and TSA Executive Advisor to State Department Eric Sarandrea.
