Representative Hsiao called President-elect Biden’s foreign policy adviser Antony Blinken to express congratulations on the successful campaign

Representative Bi-khim Hsiao called former Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken to express congratulations for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ successful election campaign on behalf of the government of Taiwan. Mr. Blinken is currently President-elect Biden’s foreign policy adviser.

During the call, Representative Hsiao noted the close and enduring ties between Taiwan and the United States based on the depth of our shared values and common interests. She also spoke about longstanding bipartisan support for stronger Taiwan-U.S. relations, both in Congress and across different administrations.

She expressed her best wishes to the transition team and said Taiwan looks forward to continuing to cooperate closely with the U.S. in coming years.
