Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta and Deputy Director General Daniel Hung, Director Lynn Tai, and Deputy Director Jerry Chang visited the World Financial Group (WFG) on March 14.
World Financial Group is a marketing company based in Johns Creek, a suburb of Atlanta. It sells investment, insurance, and various other financial products through a network of distributors in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. WFG is wholly owned by Transamerica, a subsidiary of Aegon, a multinational insurance company.
The visit was accompanied by Kent Davies, Chairman of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce. Susan Davis, Senior Vice President, and Ting Chiu, Executive Vice President of WFG, hosted the meeting.
DG Liu explained that one of TECO Atlanta’s functions is to promote trade and investment between Taiwan and the six southeastern states in the US. The insurance sector of WFG could be a good partner for Taiwan’s national health insurance service. He also expressed hope that WFG’s employees someday will visit Taiwan to learn the land, the cuisine and the people at first-hand.
