Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta was invited by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to participate in the “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Flying” campaign to celebrate US Independence Day. The opening ceremony took place at the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal on June 25. Congratulatory notes and flower arrangements were presented by TECO Atlanta and other Atlanta area Consular Corps member countries.
Atlanta International Airport’s General Manager John Selden and Director of International Business Alrene Barr hosted the ceremony. In March, Taipei’s Mayor Dr. Ko Wen Je led a delegation to Atlanta in honor of the Taipei and Atlanta 40th Anniversary Sister Cityhood. On behalf of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, both Selden and Barr greeted Mayor Ko at the gate on March 20. Their warm hospitality shows that both Atlanta and Taipei cherish their longstanding friendship.
