In response to the rapid spread of COVID-19, starting from Wednesday, March 25, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Atlanta will adjust its services regarding issuing and renewing passports, visas, and documentation to by mail only:
- All Documents by mail only: Beginning on March 25, 2020, the Consular Division will be closed to public.
- Application of non-chip passports (非晶片護照) and travel documents (入國證明書) will be suspended from March 25, 2020 until further notice. TECO in Atlanta will accept application of chip passports only.
- Mail during the Prevention Period: During the prevention period, mail will be the only method of sending documents. Before mailing your documents, please first make a phone call or email the office so we can have experts serve you and answer your questions. After the documents are completed, we will mail them using your pre-paid methods (USPS, UPS, or FedEx).
- Power of Attorney for Veteran Pensions or Labor Pensions, and Certificate of Residency: Please have the notary public sign your application before selecting the option of “mailing” it to the office.
- We will momentarily be suspending all consular express services.
