The Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts co-hosted an online discussion with several AAPI organizations to discuss community safety on Thursday, May 6. This event was sponsored by the Fulton County Police Department and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta. The leaders of the following organizations were present:
Atlanta Care and Assistance Association
Asian American Senior Citizens Association
Asian Restaurant Council
Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Greater Georgia
Atlanta Taiwanese Women Club
Global Federation of Chinese Businesswomen Atlanta
In response to the concerns expressed by the leaders, the Fulton County Police has led a virtual public safety training webinar to ensure the protection of the AAPI community. Topics covered included The Common Characteristics of Criminals, the Crime Triangle, Personal Safety, and a number of other pertinent subject matters. This training will better equip law enforcement with the knowledge needed to stop an active shooter.
We appreciate the solidarity received from the Fulton County Police Department and the Fulton County Commissioner Chairman Office.
