The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO-Boston) and members of the local Taiwanese Community collectively known as Boston Taiwanese Fighting COVID-19 are joining forces to donate more than 3,000 cloth face masks (Made in Taiwan) to protect Boston Police Officers, Boston Firefighters, and MBTA bus/train operators to protect against COVID-19.
These public servant heroes and medical professionals bravely combat COVID-19 on the frontline tirelessly to keep the community healthy while maintaining order during this challenging time. To show our respect and appreciation for their service, TECO-Boston and the Boston Taiwanese Fighting COVID-19 team, including the Taiwan Film Festival of Boston, NE Hakka, New England Association of Chinese Professionals (NEACP), Taiwanese Association of America (TAA), Taiwanese Dragon Boat Club of Boston, Taiwanese Family Association, et al., raised funds to purchase more than 3,000 cloth face masks from Taiwan. The masks will be donated and distributed among the Boston Police Department, the Boston Fire Department, and MBTA.
Boston Taiwanese Fighting COVID-19 has been raising awareness by producing and buying cloth masks 3 weeks prior to the government advisory to the general public to wear masks. Now, more than 40+ families in the New England area have joined together to deliver masks to hospitals, homeless shelters, nursing homes etc.
TECO-Boston and the local Taiwanese Community stand with our friends across Massachusetts and the City of Boston during this difficult time. We are Bostonians and Taiwanese. Together, we can combat COVID-19.
