To comply with the Massachusetts State Government COVID-19 advisory that all Massachusetts non-essential businesses close and residents stay at home, TECO-Boston will remain closed through May 18, 2020. - In compliance with 99 Summer Street building management regulations and to help protect the safety and health of the public and staff during the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Massachusetts, the Visa Division is closed and consular services will be processed by mail only. 4. Consular Services, including issuing and renewal of passports, visas, and documents include the following changes:
- Only Biometric Passport applications will be processed. Machine Readable Passports (MRP) will not be processed until further notice.
- Applicants processing Power of Attorney or Proof of U.S. Residency for military retirement benefits or retirement benefits must authenticate/certify such documents by a Notary Public in your area before mailing for processing by TECO-Boston. Applications are not being processed in person at this time and until further notice.
- Applications submitted by mail must include a self-addressed stamped or pre-paid envelope (e.g. FedEx, UPS, USPS only.) Please Note: Prior to mailing your documents to TECO-Boston, we strongly recommend that you visit the Visa Division website at: https://taiwanembassy.org/usbos_en/post/42.html, or contact TECO-Boston by email, text, or phone.
- If you experience an emergency with an application currently in process, please call or text (857) 202-2114 or email bostonvisa@mofa.gov.tw If we are experiencing a high volume of inquiries which prevent us from responding immediately, please leave your name, phone number, and message. Please be assured, we will be reply and assist you as soon as possible.
- Please Note: Due to office building management regulations and in an effort to limit the danger of exposure to COVID-19, we are limiting the number of in-person applications. Should you require an in-person application, you must schedule an appointment. Building security will only permit those with a previous appointment approved by the Visa Division to enter the building. Thank you for your understanding.
