
Director-General Jonathan Sun of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO Boston) and TECO Boston Culture Center Director Chao Jung Pan visited the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England and 11 other groups from August 15 to August 16. Director-General Sun and Director Pan received a warm welcome from the Boston Chinatown organizations.
Director-General Sun arrived in Boston on July 28, but opted to quarantine himself for 14 days before meeting with organizations. This was done out of respect for local leaders and in light of the pandemic.
Director-General Sun thanked the organizations for their continued support of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and enthusiasm for TECO Boston. He also appreciated the local groups for Joseph Wu, Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chen-yuan Tung, Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
Director Pan thanked the organizations for their long-term support of cultural work at the TECO Boston Culture Center.
The 12 organizations each affirmed their support for Taiwan and to working with TECO Boston for further understanding and recognition of Taiwan.
The organizations visited by Director-General Sun and Director Pan were the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England, Ni Lun Benevolent Association, the New England Gee Poy Kuo Family Association, the Chinese Merchants Association of Boston, Gee How Oak Tin Association of New England, the Lee Family Association of New England, the Moy Family Association of New England, the Kuomintang of Boston, the Boston Wong Family Association, the Goon Family Association of New England and the Chew Lun Association of New England.
