Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago celebrates Chinese New Year

In celebration of Chinese New Year, the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (TCCGC) held its 2017 Annual Dinner Gala on the evening of Saturday January 14th, 2017 at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Approximately 600 guests joined the celebration dinner event.
In his remarks, Director General Calvin Ho of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago praised the contribution made by TCCGC to the local Taiwanese community in promoting the trade and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and the State of Illinois. Mr. Ho said that he looked forward to the TCCGC’s continuing support and assistance and encouraged the attendees to make good use of the newly established direct flights between Taipei and Chicago to visit Taiwan more often.
Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and First Lady Diana Rauner were also invited to attend and speak at the event. Gov. Rauner spoke, echoing Director General Ho’s sentiments and expressing his wish to find an opportunity to visit Taiwan in the near future. Gov. Rauner and Mrs. Rauner also wished the attendees a Happy Chinese New Year.
