Director General Debby Huang traveled to Lincoln to pay a visit to Governor of Nebraska Jim Pillen and Director of Department of Agriculture Sherry Vinton.
Nebraska is famous for its first-rate beef, and Taiwan ranks number four among its export markets and is also an important buyer of Nebraskan high-quality soybean, corn and wheat.
Director General Huang had discussion on promoting trade volume in agricultural products to Taiwan with Governor Pillen. She also invited Governor Pillen to taste traditional Taiwanese snack made of Nebraskan agricultural products!
Governor Pillen was swine veterinarian and he has a collection of piglet decorations in the office. Director General Huang presented an art piece of piglet holding a persimmon made of crystal glass to Governor Pillen. It had auspicious symbolism of “May all your wishes come true”, the best blessing from Director General Huang to Governor Pillen for the coming New Year.
