One of Colorado’s leading and most influential news outlets, The Colorado Sun, published an interview with Director General Debby Huang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Denver on June 6.
In the interview, Director General Huang emphasized the close and enduring partnership between Taiwan and the United States. She highlighted TECO Denver’s efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Colorado and the other five Midwestern states within its jurisdiction, fostering robust exchanges in trade, investment, culture, and education. As an example, she pointed to the recently signed Taiwan–Colorado Memorandum of Understanding, which further deepens bilateral cooperation.
Director General Huang also noted that China’s growing military activities continue to pose challenges to regional peace and stability. She explained that U.S. arms sales to Taiwan help enhance Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities and contribute to deterring escalating threats in the region.
Director General Huang reaffirmed that Taiwan and the United States are partners united by shared democratic values. She also warmly welcomed more American friends to visit Taiwan and experience firsthand its vibrant democracy, openness, and hospitality.
