Notice from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam

According to the April 10, 2026 press release issued by Guam Homeland Security and Office of Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), Tropical Depression 04W has intensified into Tropical Storm Sinlaku and continues to move toward the Mariana Islands. The system may strengthen further and could bring strong winds, heavy rain, and flooding to Guam.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam reminds Taiwanese expatriates and overseas nationals in Guam to remain vigilant, closely monitor the latest updates issued by the Guam government and weather authorities, and complete typhoon preparedness measures as early as possible.

Please take the following precautions:
Check drainage systems around your home
Remove or secure outdoor items that may be blown away by strong winds
Prepare drinking water, food, medicines, lighting equipment, and important documents
Avoid unnecessary travel during strong winds and heavy rain
Stay away from low-lying areas, coastal areas, and flooded roads
If your household includes elderly persons, young children, persons with disabilities, or pets, please make care and evacuation plans in advance.
