The Government of Guam has announced that, effective 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, the island has been placed under Condition of Readiness 1 (COR 1) due to Typhoon Bavi. COR 1 indicates that damaging winds are expected within 12 hours. All residents are required to remain indoors until the island returns to Condition of Readiness 4 (COR 4).
To ensure the safety of the public, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam will suspend all public services during this period. The consular service counter will also be closed, and all consular applications and related services will be temporarily suspended.
The Office will announce the resumption of normal office hours once the Government of Guam has downgraded the island to Condition of Readiness 4 (COR 4) and it has been confirmed that conditions are safe.
